Friday Facts - Colossae

|
This last week I started posting on the book of Colossians. This will be the theme on Monday for quite a few weeks to come as I study this book in the Bible and share these studies with you thru my posts.

As I've begun this study time and prepared myself I have been searching for additional information on the city of Colossae. I found a website that has pictures of the area where this city once stood. The photos are beautiful and it offers some interesting facts about the city and general information relating to Paul and the book of Colossians.

When I get more time, I'm going to sit down and look thru this website in more detail. It looks like a great place to go to see more and learn more about many of the places we read about in the Bible. But, for now, I'll leave you with this link for more info on Colossians.

Praying you all have a great weekend! I'll see you back here on Monday!

Thank you for the link. I will certainly be visiting that site. Back in 1993 I had the privilege of visiting Ephesus and Corinth and the island of Patmos. I very much enjoy studies on the churches in the New Testament.

Blessings Melanie...Thanks for your sweet visit & this incredible link!!! I went to see the photos & want to go back & check it out more. It's bookmarked to explore!!!

Mel, Didn't you say last week that it was buried in Turkey? awww now I have to go back & find out what you said...I probably got it wrong! I thought you told us, it no longer existed but is buried in a hill. Not a very good student if I can't remember from one week to the next lesson. I know you mentioned Colossae being east of Ephesus or was it Colossae is west from Ephesus - same thing! Seeing Bible lands makes it so real! Thanks for sharing these FACTS!(if I can only keep them straight). At one time, I wanted to travel the lands of the Bible...not anymore
but I would still like to see the Holy land I think...That site is beautiful, I'll visit that way for now! Someone in WFW (Lana I think) had some beautiful Jordan photos)!

Those were really nice photos. It is amazing the currant you can see flowing in that small stream.
