On this Thankful Thursday I am so thankful that we serve a God in whom we can entrust everything. There is no need for us to worry about tomorrow, there is no need for us to worry about whether or not our daily needs will be met, there is not need to worry about the outcome of the election. Plain and simple…. THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY.
Now that I’ve said that I must make a confession. I am a worrier. However, I am a recovering worrier. Over the last couple of years I have been on a journey to trust and rely more and more on the Lord. I don’t want to be a worrier. It’s no fun. It brings sleepless nights. It shows I don’t put my trust where it should be which is in the Lord.
Over the last few months it has become easier and easier to put aside my worrying nature and to just let God handle whatever it may be that could be worrisome. Oh, this doesn’t mean that I still don’t fail… I do. My human nature jumps in there sometimes before I can even stop it. But, it is becoming easier to push aside my human nature.
I’m so thankful that God will handle anything… if we will just let Him. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6....
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

great reminder!
Loved your TT post, and I am also a worry wart but as of late God has given me so much peace about things that in my human nature I should worry about. The old song is true "Don't worry - be happy!" May the joy of the Lord be our strength, may it also be our Country's strength! -Happy TT!
Melanie,
That is a verse we have relied on much during this last year. It brings such comfort.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheryl
Amen, no need for fear. Gods love will cast out all fear my friend.
I am a recovering worrier.... me too!! I enjoyed this post very much. It feed my soul. Thank you...
Melanie, you ROCK. Have a fantastic TT.
Oh me too, me too! I'm a recovering worrier!!! I am so thankful for God's word!
You are totally right about that! There is no need for us to worry. Sometimes I am a worrier. God has given me a peace that I needed so I would not go crazy!!:) Happy TT Melanie! God Bless~
From one worrier to another, thanks for this post today! I'm really consciously working on "let go and let God" to use the vernacular but it completely goes against what is in my nature. I'll keep plugging though!
Very honest TT and I loved it! If it helps, I'm a worrier too and slowly learning to just trust God, but it's not easy.
Bless you dear Sister!
This is a good reminder. This is also an area I'm working on myself. God bless!
You are so right! How timely this post is!
Melanie,
I can so relate to this post. I used to worry about everything. And now, I am just learning more and more to trust. What peace!
Blessings to you sweet sister!
I love that you wrote this
"THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY."
Thank you for the prayer and for that word.
Great reminder my friend! Bless you dear.
Hi Melanie,
I am a recovering worrier too. I have learned something good always come from something that has happened. But it is easier to see it for others than you self. I can tell my kids it happened for this reason. But it took me 29 years to see what good came of things that happened to me.
Have a wonderful week.

Sometimes it's hard not to worry. A verse that has helped me through the years is John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Good thankful list, somethign for us all to think about.
This resonates my post for WFW yesterday...so very true!
It is human nature to worry and that is why we are so blessed that we can take on the nature of Christ and lay our burdens at the cross. The challenge for us "recovering worriers" is not to pick them back up again! Happy TT!
This is a very nice list Melanie thanks for this...TC
Mine is here hope you visit
My Melanie,
I'm guilty too. I pray God would hear your cry and give your HIS peace that passes all understanding.
Have a blessed day my friend♥
What a wonderful reminder not to worry! I tend to be a worrier as well.
While I'm not a worrier, I am married to one. I see him growing in the same way you are, Melanie, and it's encouraging! Thank you for this wonderful post. Happy Thankful Thursday!
Hey Melanie! God has been convicting me with that scripture lately. I am (slowly) learning to give thanks in every situation. Thanks for the reminder!
I am in a time right now...getting bombarded with so much to "worry" about. Since, that tends to be my inclination, thank you for the reminder.
My grandpa used to call me a "worry wart" but I do feel I have grown out of that for the most part. I know that as God's child, He will take care of me. Period. That doesn't mean I will like everything that happens, but I know that everything that happens is for my good.
Thanks for your post!
I must confess that I too struggle with worry. It just seems like lately there's so much to worry about. But I do know that God is in control and through faith, I believe. Glad to visit your blog on this Thankful Thursday.
Thank you for this wonderful reminder. I find that I am either spending more time worrying or more time praying. I really appreciate you being thankful for this- it is encouraging to me.
What a GREAT "TT" post.. but yours ALWAYS ARE! ;-)
Man, it sure is GREAT to be able to visit all my bloggy sisters again. It's weird how "attached" I've become to many of you. I was beginning to have MAJOR blogger withdrawals.. LOL!!!
I hope you have a FANTASTIC weekend...
LOVE YOU,
Tonya
