Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
I don't think I can find the words to express how much this verse means to me. How blessed we are to be able to turn over anything and everything to God. And, to know that we can do so with thanksgiving in our hearts regardless of the circumstances just makes it that much better.
I have spent much time over the past few months focusing on all the blessings in my life. I have then tried to take time on top of that to make sure I express my thankfulness to God. The difference I have seen in my whole attitude and my whole outlook on life in general has been so great!
Paul tells us that when we come before God with our concerns and when we come with a heart of thanksgiving that ".... the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". What a promise!
This promise is what I am most thankful for this week. As I've been on this "thankful journey" over the last few months I have seen these words from Paul play out in my life. It is so true that when we focus on the many blessings God has given us, when we express those thankgivings to Him, and when we remember them and praise God for them even in the toughest of moments, God WILL give us peace.
