Friday Facts - New Testament Writers

Have you ever wondered who wrote the most books in the New Testament? At first guess, I would say Paul. Upon doing a little research, though, I found that this isn't exactly correct. It depends on how you look at it. Here's what I mean.....

~ Paul wrote the greatest number of books in the New Testament (13 books, 2,033 verses)

-- BUT --

-- Luke wrote the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts. These two books take up one-third of the New Testament (2 books, 2,158 verses)

Who comes in third place?

~ John, the apostle, wrote a gospel, the book of Revelation, and 3 letters (5 books, 1,414 verses)

Have a great weekend!!

Girlfriend, you REALLY did your homework! WOW! I never knew that. I thought Paul did most of the writing. That's seriously cool to know this! Thanks!! ☺

On another note.. I wanted to say THANKS for your prayers and comments recently. I'd not been online much but you (my bloggy buddies) haven't been far from my mind. (I was reading comments from my cell)

It was GREAT to get good news on Zach, and just as GREAT to feel that PEACE that PASSES understanding while we were waiting. I KNOW that the LORD heard our prayers and used them to bring peace until we got the final word.

I hope all is well with you and that you have an AMAZING weekend!

I ♥ You, Sweet Sister!

Well, we were just talking about Dr. Luke this morning in SS. When I think what we would have missed should he not have picked up the pen?! Have mercy...he's given us a treasure trove through the power of the Holy Spirit, as have Paul and John.

I just love the Word of God!

All written powerfully by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and as such it's meat for our lives and medicine for our bones. Amen Melanie and bless you.

Happy Friday & HOPE your SUNDAY is being SUPER!!! I tried on TT to leave you a comment & i (or it) didn't work. I just can't pass the letter verification! Anyways I love these GEMS & facts you find...cuz they impress me & I love being able to pass them on! Every chapter, every book & every verse count!

You probably had this already & it's probably Psalms. But what is it for the whole Bible?
Because Psalms though many were written by David others contributed. I don't want to know for OT! But the whole Bible? Of course I suppose I could go figure...right? But I thought perhaps you shared this while I was away for 40 days!!! You are FANTASTIC! How's your sister doing & her plans? Did I miss her leaving? Hope all is well & you keep blessing us with these fun facts! If only I'd remember to come without you having to visit me. So enjoy Mel..God bless!
