Wonderful verse to hear today!! Have a beautiful day :)
I have always loved that verse. Love is the greatest of everything.
Amen, amen, amen! This verse always speaks to my heart so strongly. It is a personal favorite of mine.
Several years ago, our family went through a terrible time with my brother. He lived out of town, but stayed in touch with me. I was trying my best to "straighten him out." Actually, I was guilty of preaching to him. Have you ever witnessed "in-your-face" Christianity? Guilty! I achieved the complete opposite effect than I intended, totally alienating him with my attitude and actions. He wouldn't speak to me for over a year.
One day, God spoke to me so clearly...He said, "It is not YOUR job to save your brother...only I can save him! It is your job to love him...just LOVE him...I'll take care of the rest."
So, I repented and released my brother to God. My brother lived out of town, so I began sending him little notes and gifts...just showing him how much I cared about him and loved him. He started calling me again, and I kept our conversations light and humorous, encouraging him and letting him know that I loved him so very much.
Within six months my brother made a profession of faith! AND, after years and years and YEARS of severe alcoholism, he was delivered from it. He has not had a drink in six years! I praise God for setting me straight. Most of all, I praise Him for loving my brother even more than I, and for wooing him into the Kingdom!
Thank you so much for sharing this verse today, Melanie!
