A New Look for the Holidays!

|
So... before we left to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with family I had it all planned out how I would spend this afternoon getting out the Christmas decorations. We would play Christmas music, make hot chocolate, maybe get the house smelling like Christmas with a great stove top poutpourri... you get the picture.

However, here is the reality. I am tired. Don't get me wrong.. we had a GREAT Thanksgiving! But, the thought of pulling all the Christmas decorations down from the attic doesn't sound like such a great idea anymore. I want the day to relax and unwind and reflect.

So, in an effort to relax and unwind while still accomplishing some Christmas decorating, I decided to decorate my blog for holidays. I can sit down and relax, play around with Christmas colors and templates and play the Christmas music while I decorate.

Not exactly what I originally had in mind, but it works for me. And, next weekend, we'll get the rest of the house ready! :)

You are funny. Too tired to decorate the house so you do your blog. Isn't it amazing that we really do have a loving neighborhood of true friends through blogland. It is worthyy to decorate this second home.

Nice layout.
Sweet blessings,
Paula

I am so with you, Melanie. I am not ready for Christmas yet either. Somehow I missed a couple months this year - lol...I really like the background you have used for your blog - calming :)

Have a blessed Monday. Thank you for stopping by today and not giving up on me - yet :)

I haven't even started, and the month is going to go so fast. Out four year old was nursing a bad cold this weekend, so no trip to the tree farm for a tree yet. Maybe next weekend.

Really nice simmering potpourri, btw:

I'm so excited to get to decorating. My husband got the boxes from the attic because I needed to see what I'd purchased last year that I'd forgotten about! I always buy stuff on sale and forget about it by the next year. I found Christmas cards and two shirts I didn't remember.

I'm excited to see all the blogs decorated for Christmas. I'm going to change my Monday I think.

God bless you!

Oh how I can relate to this. My son was SO thrilled to pull out all the boxes of decorations, but when I saw it all, I wanted to jump in bed and pull the covers over my head!

Your blog looks great! And thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. May God bless you!!

Oh I do know that feeling....your best laid plans are overcome by exhaustion and don't work out. But you are a wise one, it is better to decorate the blog instead of the house when you feel that way. :)
Your blog looks great!

I love your new look. I understand about being tired. After I got home Steve said, "Could we just not turn the tv on for a while?" I said, "That's perfect!" Whew! A great time was had by all but it was hectic there at the end.

I don't exactly care for the pulling out of the decorum either, and our thanksgiving is in October! Ah well. Worst part is the lights... which bulbs are burnt out?

Your new layout is so pretty! I just began putting up decorations today. We won't do near as much this year, due to hubby's current health situation.

Bill's MRI was not a surprise, but we sure were hoping and praying for a better report. I posted about it today. Please continue to remember him in your prayers.

Thank you!

Blessings...
