Thankful Thursday

|

This week I am so thankful for quality time with my family... with my husband and with my children. The last couple of months have found us all in places and in circumstances that have left us with very little good time together as a family. I have been pre-occupied with some concerns I have over small situations, my husband has needed to be away from home quite a bit, my kids are in the midst of activities with school and friends, and then we've just had a alot of "stuff" that needed to be done.

The next two weekends it looks like we are going to get some good time together where we can all do some fun activities together and we can just have some good "us" time. I am so looking forward to this... time where we can just be together without all the daily interruptions. I'm going to push aside all my daily worries and pre-occupations, we're not going to think about work or laundry or dirty dishes or anything else. It's just going to be about being together and oh, how my mind and my heart need this time. It is ALWAYS so refreshing to me... both mentally and physically. And, as we are gearing up quickly for holidays and all the busy-ness that comes with this time of year... I am going to enjoy our time together to the fullest and "fill myself up".

I pray each of you can enjoy some of this wonderful family time over the next few weeks, as well!

Thank you, Lord, for family!

Melanie,

I'm glad that you and your family are going to get to spend some time together over the next couple of weeks. Life sometimes gets in the ways and we have to ensure that it doesn't rob us of those precious moments with our loved ones.

Enjoyed your post.

Blessings,
Mary

Oh theres nothing like spending time together as a family. Put all the distractions aside and enjoy each other. I am also going to do that, my (new) daughter in law is in town on fall break from college and since our son is overseas, we try to spend as much time with her as we can so I am taking her and my daughter on a "girls day" and going to the pottery place to paint pottery. I can't wait - being with her makes me feel close to my son who I miss very much. I cherish times like this, as I know you will also cherish your time this weekend. Thanks for sharing with us on TT! -Blessings, Laurie

Sometimes it just seems so hard to squeeze in any time with our families, much less quality time. I'm glad you were able to find some time with yours.

Great Post! I totally agree about dedicated family time. It is soo hard to juggle everything and still squeeze in Mom time that I think a lot of families suffer for the lack of quality time! I try to make an effort everyday, reading books, boardgames, bible reading...whatever!!! LOVE IT!

Melanie, you made me eager for this weekend. Our younger daughter is coming to spend the night. Although our daughters just live 30 miles away, with college and work schedules, we don't get to spend nearly enough time with them.

I'm going to hop right up and get the spare room fixed up like a Bed and Breakfast suite to show her how much I appreciate her coming home instead of staying in town, hanging out with friends.

Thank you for your TT list and the inspiration and blessing you've given me.

Happy Thursday!

You are right, Melanie. We do need those days were we just hang out - don't worry about all the other daily stuff. I am glad that you can look forward to this.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.
