Thankful Thursday - May 29, 2008

|

Today I am thankful for prayer. I am thankful that…

…. in all things I am able to turn to the Lord in prayer.

…. that at anytime of the day or night I am able to pray and know the Lord will be listening.

…. that whether I am in a quiet place or in my car, I can pray and be assured the Lord hears my prayer.

…. that in times of trouble I can pray and be assured the Lord will provide comfort.

…. that in joyful times I can pray and know the Lord hears my praises and words of thanksgiving.

…. that I can pray and know that my Heavenly Father hears me and wants to share that time with me.

… that I can pray to the Lord on behalf of my friends and loved ones and know that He hears that prayer and will be there for them as He is for me.

Okay, Melanie. You freaked me out there for a moment. I was waiting for a joke or punch line until I realized what probably happened. Now, you are probably corn-fused. It says Thankfull Thursday but today is Wednesday. I'm assuming you are on the ball and just anxious for posting on Thursday.

That is a very true and wonderful list of thankfulness. Indeed, we really don't need anything else when we have this entire list, huh?

He is ALL we need. My God IS sufficient for me.

I would be lost without prayer. Many times I feel like a little girl cos I'm always running to my Father with 'Daddy look what happened...' complaints and reports. Thank God for His patience!

Melanie,

He is one person who is always waiting for us. It doesn't matter where we are or what we want to talk to Him about, He's there. There's no one else like Him.

Fabulous thankful list on prayer. I too am thankful that we have a Father we can go to anytime, anyplace, anywhere and HE is always waiting. I am also thankful for friends that will stop what they are doing and pray for a friend when you call. Pray when you are so overwhelemed that you feel you can't pray. I was in this place not so long ago and I am so thankful that friends prayed for me!
Have a great day and HAPPY TT!

Now I know why there are so many links already on Iris's post when I go there Thursday morning before 8:30 a.m. to put mine up.
Prayer is a wonderful TT subject. And He knows our needs even when we can't speak them but just cry out.

My bible study this morning was about the "prayer closet". I think I often take forgranted the amazing power I possess in prayer. I am committing to a more focused, intentional prayer life! Thanks for the reminder!

Great post! Also thankful for prayer. Can anyone survive without human conversation? No, so why do I think I can ever do without prayer, conversation with my heavenly Father...

Hi Melanie!
Loved your thoughts on prayer.
Sometimes I get lost in my words when praying... ?.... I know people who pray so eloquently.... and my own prayers seem so... plain... so awkwards sometimes. I'm glad the Lord knows my heart and understands what I mean even when I don't say it the way I want to. :)

Prayer is such a gift! Being a busy mommy, I'm so thankful that we can pray without ceasing by just talking with the Lord as we go about our day. If we had to sit and be quiet in order to pray, that wouldn't work for me right now. Not without a little who's learning to walk!

Thanks for visiting my site. Have a blessed weekend!

Amen Melanie! It is a sweet thing to be able to go to the Lord at anytime, anywhere and any circumstance. Praise His name that He welcomes our prayers and He answers them and knows what is best for us.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. :-)

Blessings,
Tammy

Amen to that. I too love to pray in my car. For some reason - that is the best time for me to just have a conversation with God.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Blessings to you and yours...
